April 16th, the final eight episodes will start..

Meanwhile, it kinda looked like the Guilty Remnant were in Congress tonight.. just missing the chain smoking...

Season 3 Main Cast
-
Kevin, Laurie, Matt, Meg (dies early in #1), Jill, Tommy, Nora, Mary, John, Michael, Erika, Kevin Sr. (last two not in #1).
Out from 2 - Patti.
Promoted up from recurring - Scott Glenn as Kevin's Dad.
Briefly returning from Season 1 in #1 - Dean.
Briefly returning from Season 1 in #2 - Christine.
-

Three years later. Two weeks prior to the seventh anniversary of the Departure.

What happened to baby Lily? It seems so impossibly cruel that Nora should lose another child.

They got me - I totally thought that was Kevin Sr. in Australia at the end with the birds...

Now from here, I'm going to watch the third season premiere of another show I love... also starring Carrie Coon... very cool to be getting double doses of her for the next couple months...

#2 opening credits very funny. I knew all the words..

Script is credited to Tha Lonely Donkey Kong & Specialist Contagious. Huh. That's odd.

Glad Lily isn't dead, but my heart breaks again for Nora..

Wrong police chief named Kevin. Dad comes on the scene... whatever you do, don't tell them your name and former profession...

Mark Linn-Baker was really good. http://uproxx.com/sepinwall/the-leftove ... ker-recap/

My husband refuses to watch the show so it will be a show I watch by myself so it may take me awhile. I did watch the first one and I liked it a lot. Is Kevin putting the plastic bag over his head to try to die or to prove to himself that he can't? I like the way he is now living with Nora and that his ex-wife and friend are together. I can't recall What happened to the the crazy people. Did the church burn down with them in it I just can't remember? And it seems to me that

Whoops. It seems to me that Kevin should have been killed in a number of ways because the fellow did shoot him and then he fell into the water or threw himself into the water and all the sudden the water was gone. So this anniversary coming up is the setting for this season and I think it's a good setup. Is this the last season? The show manages to have a religious or Supernatural Edge without being truly Supernatural religious. I like that a lot.

The other confusing thing to me was the beginning of the show.
Why were we saying those people who look like Amish or Puritans and why was the woman being shunned I didn't catch that. At first I thought maybe it was related to Roanoke where the whole colony of people disappeared but that was much earlier in American history.

The other confusing thing was the ending where we saw a woman who looked like Nora with the white doves or homing pigeons. Is that to be something in the future? I never know if I'm seeing the future the past or an alternative future with his show.

>> Is Kevin putting the plastic bag over his head to try to die or to prove to himself that he can't?

I think it's... hard to say... you'll see Nora catch him in #2 and he says he always tears it off before, but... we know he COULD 'die' and then come back, so... he doesn't want to die, I don't think. He says so, and I believe he's being truthful, but... that doesn't REALLY explain 'why'... it's a weird ritual, but Nora kinda gets it (and remember, she used to hire people to shoot her...).

>> I can't recall What happened to the the crazy people. Did the church burn down with them in it I just can't remember?

They holed up in the visitors' center. Evie wakes up and talks to Meg for a couple minutes. Noises (peep hole drilling). She goes outside. Everybody's scrambling away. Bomb coming, reflected in Evie's glasses. Boom. They're gone. Then we jump ahead three years.

Kevin and Tommy discuss the cover story vs. reality later (the protesters are right, the government DID kill Meg and her people).

There were more Guilty Remnant than were in the attack on Jarden, but (so far) we haven't seen what became of them three years later.

>> It seems to me that Kevin should have been killed in a number of ways because the fellow did shoot him and then he fell into the water or threw himself into the water and all the sudden the water was gone.

Yeah. It seems as though Kevin can't die. Maybe it's just within Jarden, maybe it's anywhere.

>> Is this the last season?

Yes. This one's only 8 episodes. 10/10/8... 28 total.

>> The other confusing thing to me was the beginning of the show. Why were we saying those people who look like Amish or Puritans and why was the woman being shunned I didn't catch that. At first I thought maybe it was related to Roanoke where the whole colony of people disappeared but that was much earlier in American history.

Sepinwall's review linked to this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Disappointment It's 1844. Her family loses faith... she keeps trusting. Date of Jesus's return kept getting postponed...

>> The other confusing thing was the ending where we saw a woman who looked like Nora with the white doves or homing pigeons. Is that to be something in the future? I never know if I'm seeing the future the past or an alternative future with his show.

That was a purposeful wtf moment. Looks to be the future, NOT a woman who looks like Nora.

More clues on the women in Australia and their inquiry about Kevin in #2, and the set-up for Nora and Kevin to join Kevin Sr. in Australia, but... why she's older and alone and how much further in the future that last scene in #1 is taking place... we don't know yet.

Because I'm not sure you'll remember this - going into #2... there was an 80s sitcom called Perfect Strangers and 3/4ths of its cast Departed, and the one that didn't faked his Departure because he didn't wanna be left out. He was actually hiding out in Mexico, but the press exposed him as a fake.

Thanks a lot Dax. That really helped. I just watched the second episode.

This is interesting about that guy claiming he can send Nora back to wherever her family is. There is absolutely no proof that anything is happening to these people other than the fact that they are probably being evaporated by radiation. Since the people who departed are probably dead then I guess that is a way to get to be with your friends and relatives but there are cheaper ways.

Sometime to this show has almost the blackest of humor like Nora putting the picture of the guys body who had the heart attack and fell off of the high place he was staying. I could actually see her point in that these people think he was departed and he just had a heart attack and fell on the ground. The other funny thing was her inability to run some of those automatic machines. As far as the parking lot goes I have had things like you had happened to me and I have reacted very similar to her especially if someone is beeping in back of me I usually get out and take a rant at them and then just drive through the damn thing.

So were the crazy women in Australia trying to find Kevin from America or Kevin's dad who came out of the shack?

The thing I didn't quite get about Mark approaching Nora on behalf of the (probable) scam artists with a pathway to those Departed is that he expressed that HE was interested in 'going'... but obviously, he hasn't, and why not? They offering him free passage later in exchange for a 'celebrity endorsement' now?

Very funny and odd that Coon's Gloria on Fargo is experiencing similar difficulties with technology... automatic door wouldn't open for HER, either...

I haven't watched #3 yet (will do that tonight), but it should shed some light on the Australian ladies' Kevin search. It's a Kevin Sr. spotlight episode..

I just watched the one with Kevin's father in Australia and don't I usually don't care for tangental storylines, I thought this one was pertinent to the big story and really interesting as well. We don't know if Kevin Senior has something really going or if he is totally off his rocker it could be either way. The one thing I didn't understand was was Kevin's dad unconscious for a period of time and the women found the note and that's why they drowned that for Sheriff who also was named Kevin? And who were the people building the boat? I know a number of people think it will be end of the world but previously I don't recall them mentioning floods.
