I'm expecting 13, but wouldn't be shocked if (like what happened with Season 4) they were to throw in a 'bonus' episode. FX will approve if Sutter needs it, I'm sure... and they'll continue to have the 'flexible end times'...

I am starting to hate them all and I think the show is exceptionally violent for the sake of violence. I never thought that about BB.

Okay, but that's kind of an odd thing to say. It is an extremely violent show and always has been. The violence is essential to the story. Saying it's 'violent for the sake of violence' is... like suggesting that you're somehow surprised that there are so many sex scenes in a porn video. It is what it is. Musicals have songs. Comedies are funny. Shows about violent criminals are violent.

>> I never thought that about BB.

Very different show, but BB did give us beheadings and a throat being very graphically opened up and mass murders via poison and children being murdered and nice guys being shot in the face and explosions and someone choking to death on their own vomit and the dissolving of several bodies in acid. Also a violent show, and the violence was also intrinsic to the story.

But sure, I'd describe Vince Gilligan as a gentleman that... has some dark stuff going on in his head... and Kurt Sutter as a crazy, fucking sick bastard, but he'd also be fun to have a few beers with, you know?

I am not surprised but I am disgusted. There was not weekly violence in BB but a series plot which included some. Jax started out with possible redeeming qualities and has evolved into a disgusting killing machine. There are multiple murders nearly every episode. Drag a guy in a wheelchair and cut out someone's larynx... couldn't even watch the end of this one and I have a pretty strong stomach. I love Vince but Sutter must truly be warped.

I liked the premiere.

Love Patterson's visit with Jax and (later) Unser.

Good Gemma/Wendy.

Don't hurt Wayne, Juice...

The guy in the wheelchair was funny when he said he couldn't understand anything Chibs was saying. Because we can relate...

Fun cover of Bohemian Rhapsody.

I REALLY hope Juice doesnt hurt Unser. That would make me very unhappy. I dont think Gemma would be okay with that either. I do worry though since I dont think we saw Unser in any of the previews.

I did really enjoy the music.

I do like Patterson. Shes pretty great.

I hope not either. Like I said, Unser and Nero are the only guys I think are not toally evil. I feel bad for Wendy too..

I like Bobby, too.

Ratboy doesn't seem 'bad', but we don't know a whole lot about him.

I don't think any of our (surviving, I don't mean Clay) guys are 'evil'. They're doing bad things, but usually to worse people, or in self-defense.

Watched some. For the first time in ... ever? I stopped watching something midway. Read the HitFix recap, and the almost universally negative comments. And agree with them. I'll post some here since they say better what I would say.

*Not one redeemable character. Nobody to root for. Sutter continues to ruin a once promising show.

*I'm out. I don't care how much I had previously invested in this series. There is nothing left for me in this story.

*That does it for me after hanging with the show for 6 seasons. Violence, blood, more violence, characters with no humanity left...

And a rebuttal, which was quickly stomped:
*What a bunch of cry babies. Did any of you watch The Shield? Did you expect something different? From day one, there was no doubt the characters of this show would spiral downward...

*...except The Shield was well written with characters I cared about. I no longer care about anyone on Sons. It's a straw man to say it's not Mad Men or Breaking Bad. It's not even a good version of itself.

I'm out, but will read the recaps just to see how it all goes wrong.
