We watched American Sniper last night. I liked it a lot, but it was depressing. I can't believe we got into this mess in the middle east due to Bush invading 2 countries for nothing. Neither had anything to do with 911. Now everything is destablized and the hawks always want "more boots on the ground", as long it is not thier own or their kid's that is.

So these guys come home, and are physically or mentally a mess. We "save" more badly injured men than in any prior war, but then we discard them after they return home.

They did not go into his murder, and I am glad they did not even mention the guy's name that killed him.

Started watching Babbodook but hubby hated it so turned it off. Will have to watch it another time. It was OK ... very creepy.

It is creepy, that's the joy of it! Minimal special effects and still gives you the tingles!

Just went with hubby to see Jurassic World‬ . Very fun. If you liked the original you will like this. Of course the original was better but this was very good. I missed Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) but this one had a little bit of a different theme. Not Chaos theory but corporate greed and military nut job. You KNEW what was going to happen but still it was well done ... not exactly believable because of the main star running around in high heels. :P

BD Wong was the only original cast member and the guy hasn't aged a year. I wish I looked like I did in 1993. :D

The last movie I saw in the theater was Woman in Gold, it had Helen Mirren as a character whose family had artwork stolen by the Nazis. We also saw her life in the past, and Tatiana Maslany played the part except nearly everything she said was in Austrian German with English subtitles. (Depending on what you like in movies you may enjoy or not.)

Oooh, I wanted to see that one, bl but it didn't come to any theaters near me, which mostly show blockbusters. It's been a while since I saw anything in the theater. We rented Birdman and it was.....weird. Not bad but not something that really engaged me. Maybe it wasn't the right film for my mood. I really didn't have any expectations except to think that it was really good. I just... didn't.
