Cool. I'm not really surprised, though Benioff & Weiss DID push '7' a lot before 5, and the principals' new contracts backed them up on that, but... It really didn't FEEL like they can wrap it all up in twenty more hours. Thirty seems more reasonable.

Though Sopranos kinda 'cheated' with that Part 1 and 2 bullshit, GoT would be the first HBO drama to HAVE a Season 8. Or nine. Do I hear ten?...

I expect there will be another Westeros-set series on HBO at some point (whether it be Dunk & Egg or something entirely new), but I doubt Benioff & Weiss will run it... They'd likely have SOME involvement and EP credits, but I think they'll hand it off to someone else to make..

Cool. Still a bummer he didn't turn up on Justified before the end...

Thrilled to know GoTh won't be ending anytime soon. I sure hope they don't cheat and split seasons. :) I could live in this world forever. Not bored at all with the TV show ... maybe I'm a little bored with the books right now. I'm on book 4 and it's a little slow compared to the rest of the books.

I haven't been able to confirm it, but 'people with insider info' claim the next book will be out BEFORE HBO's season six, and GRRM has a 'gentleman's agreement' for the show to keep Jon's fate secret until then.

LOLOLOLOL

I've been reading up on the depressing controversy for this year's Hugo Awards (SF and Fantasy) and GRRM has been one of the more famous writers publicly addressing the issue so I've been checking in with his blog. This made me laugh today. GRRM is in NY this week and one thing he will do it take in a baseball game;

The Staten Island Direwolves will be playing the Lannister Lions.
