She does sound like a big drama queen. It made me feel bad for her kids.

I wonder how that twitter campaign went.....

i scrolled through some of the twitter stuff, didnt seem like a huge thing. Maybe 30-40 people and 100 or so posts. The book stuff is pretty crazy and somewhat amusing. Not amusing enough for me to buy the book but very entertaining to read for free lol.

SOD: Highlights from the article "Secrets of the Set"

"Paycuts, contract changes and tactical renegotiations are the name of the game in today's soap environment." It's all about budget. It's not just the veteran actors who were asked to take pay cuts. The number of people on the crew has been cut also.

Actors are left with very little bargaining power and it's a take it or leave it kind of attitude because of all the younger actors who will work for anything. The pay scale has changed. Contract renewals don't go so well because of this and a lot of vets are off contracts which just hurts them. Vets are made to feel that they are lucky for whatever they get and it does no good to complain. Psychologically, the writers will stop writing for a vet actor 10 weeks beforehand when a veteran actor is in renegotiation talks. Management will come in and give them a low ball offer and they take it because they want to work.

Stars are quietly transitioned to a new status too. They will tell the actors that they are going from contract to recurring but they aren't permitted to say anything. They will keep them in opening credits because people know when they're out of that or out of credits, there's been a change. There are many actors on recurring that we think are contract.

There's a push for younger actors but some actors feel that they need to please the audience. "I don't know a ton of 16 year olds watching Bold & Beautiful or GH or whatever show. The way I look at it, there's a finite time that the shows will have with its audience, so why not give your audience that history....".

This person interviewed feels that bringing back a big name from the show doesn't necessarily mean that it will work. You can't have the show bring back a person and have that person only work one or two days a week and have them doing nothing. It doesn't work.

For those favorites that were on shows that have a hard time getting back in the business? There's no room and not enough shows to do that. The show has all the power. Many actors can't get a job on another soap.

Because of the production models, there's not much room for creativity within a scene. If there's hair in someone's face or if something is in the background that shouldn't be there, it doesn't matter. There's not much rehearsal time and some actors feels like they aren't part of the creative process. The most important part...getting it done.

Writing....not much interaction between actors and writers. Not many people fight for their characters because it wouldn't accomplish anything. The power of the actor has diminished. This actor didn't get the feeling that the writers were writing what they really wanted but isn't sure if it's network interference or just money talking.

People are worried that things will end for them at any time. The vets feel this more because the newbies don't really know any better.

They are thankful for the fans because they stick with them...always!

(Honestly this shit has been going on since before GL was canceled...Sad but true. I still find no excuses for the writing to be less than for no reason!!)

SOD: Joey Murders Ava!

Joey is overwhelmed by what Ava has done to him and his family so he kills her. This was driven by booze and emotion. He's not rational. Steve comes in just at this time and takes the fall for his son. Steve wants to protect his son and he gets him away from the crime soon. When Joey goes home, Kayla knows something is amiss and she's about to question him but the phone rings and she has to go to the hospital. Kayla is shocked and as a Doctor doesn't want anyone to die. Joey finally realizes what he has done when he goes back to the hospital with his Mom. He's guilt ridden that his Dad is taking the fall for him. Privately, Steve tells Joey to be quiet about what actually happened and Joey listens to his Dad. After his Dad is taken to the Police Station, Joey's guilt gets the better of him and he confesses to Kayla what actually happened. She is terrified for her son and like Steve, wants to protect him. Kayla and Steve finally get a chance to talk privately where she tells him that she knows the truth. She doesn't want people to find out the truth but she also wants to prove Steve innocent by showing that it was self - defense. Roman questions Steve and things don't add up. They find Joey's blood on Ava's pillow and Steve says that Joey came in after the deed was done. When Steve is in his cell, he's trying to figure out different angles to get out of this mess. There's going to be some twists with this. There's someone working behind the scenes to get him off and to be home with his family.

SOD: Ben escapes!

Chad is alone in the Mansion and Stefano appears to him. They have a conversation about what happened in the weeks prior to his death. BF says, "It's the kind of talk every son wishes he could have with his father after he's gone. It's very honest." Chad is pulled from that when JJ comes to him and tells him that Ben has escaped and they come up with a plan. They don't got to the cops but work independently to get to Ben before he gets to Abigail. Since he doesn't have faith in the Salem Police, he thinks that he can handle it on his own.

SOD: RSW Returns

AA told him that he would be coming back. He says that he was busy during his break filming movies and auditioning. He has a new acting class and coach.

Ben comes back because he wants to know what's going on. He hasn't forgotten what happened but he still considers Salem his home. Ben may be able to forget what he's done. He feels that this is a new arc for Ben.

He felt bad for the fans that really wanted him to receive a Pre-Nom for an Emmy. His Mom was disappointed and that made him that way too. He's OK with it now.

SOD: The Story behind Ciara's shocking rape!

She was told by AA and JG that this was going to happen well in advance. She didn't discuss this with anyone. She watched videos of when Sami was raped and to see how far the show takes these types of scenes. She also read up on other's women's stories and how it effects them.

She didn't do much work with JM before these scenes took place because they wanted it to be realistic and spontaneous. When she had to film this, she was calm at first and got nervous when the scenes began to take place. After the scenes were done she wanted some time to herself and she cried. Producer Janet Spellman-Drucker was supportive with her. Many people were crying after these scenes too.

So now where is Ciara? She's broken, guilt ridden and ashamed. She begins to act out. She hopes that Ciara's journey will help others and strike a chord with the viewers. She talks about RAINN & NSVRC.

That article explained P&G shows years before they ended. I'm not surprised, one bit though.
