We watched marathon Man last night. Wow, still good after 38 years! I was in dental school at the time and it was a big topic you can imagine.

Great movie. TCM is the default in our house. I caught a classic 'B' movie last week called Passage to Marseille with Bogart, Greenstreet, Lorre, Rains...pretty much everyone in Casablanca. It was made in 1944, clearly a propaganda film but still so much more. I recommend it.

I really don't like much earlier than the 70's. We tried to watch The High and the Mighty ('54), too corny.

Since there's almost nothing to watch on television we've been recording old movies on Sundance and some of the other movie channels. We recently watched Deliverance and the original Alien. Have to say they're both still really good movies. We've also been watching some things that are less classic but over 10 years old.

TCM is on more than anything else ever in my house. Even the 'B' movies of the 30s and 40s are watchable. I recently watched Mrs. Miniver again, Academy Awards well deserved.

We rewatched Girl Interrupted, have not seen it in quite a while. It really is a good movie with outstanding performances by both Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. It was funny looking back at it Elisabeth Moss and Jared Leto we're both also in it. I didn't remember that as well as Whoopi Goldberg. In any case it's in particular pertinent with what was happening with my niece.
