I've been running past the Roscomare house about once a month for several years. I take the road up onto Mulholland and go towards the San Fernando Valley overlook. Its the same route Bruce took and comes out to a little over four miles up and back. I've knocked on the door and left notes to try and gain access to that famous backyard where so many people trained with Bruce. A neighbor talked with me and facilitated a way in for me recently. I took many photographs and a video. I took older images and tried to match them up with my own. I'll keep posting and welcome anyone that wants to do the Bruce Lee running path to come along with me. X Ozzie

Confuxio2012 - Please do...That's why I took them. I think I may be one of the first fans / martial artists to get into that backyard in many, many years. The photographs are fifty years apart. - Ozzie

The Roscomare house is basically the same after fifty years... surprising really. The Bel Air area is vastly different from the days when Bruce, Linda, Shannon and Brandon were there. Traffic is insane in the mornings and afternoons as many people use Roscomare as a cut through route from UCLA to get up onto Mulholland so running is hazardous... one has to time it. The backyard is large and flat (pictures to come). The subsequent owners have added a concrete slab with tilework, a firepit and some other backyard features right by the porch but essentially it remains the same. No eye bolts or metal hooks used to hold and hang Bruce's equipment remain in the ceiling beams. I looked carefully. Enjoy- Ozzie

So, this is how it went... I ran past Bruce's house and stopped and knocked again. This was my sixth or seventh attempt. No answer. As I'm walking out of the driveway to take up my run, I see an older man watching me from across the street in a neighboring house. I wave and he waves back. I think, "Fuck it." I walk over and ring the doorbell. He answers and tells me, "Oh yeah, I knew Bruce and Linda. I used to train with Bruce. I helped him move in over there..." I'm skeptically thinking, "Yeah, okay. He trained with Bruce... sure thing." I go on to discuss trying to get into the backyard of Bruce's house, my interest and why and how I can never get in touch with owner. He gave me the lowdown and then said, "Hold on a minute." I was left standing there for about twenty minutes... he comes out with a plastic package. Opening it, he shows me his JKD sweatshirt that Bruce gave him in the nineteen sixties when he trained with him. (I felt stupid). Real deal right there. I was totally blown away.
