A little birdie told me that a Chinese graphic novel adaptation of TBB is on it's way. It's being done by Shing On Tsui, who also illustrated both Way of the Dragon and Fist of Fury.- Director Lo Wei: "The hero of The Big Boss is an energetic young man. When such a man prepares to kill the villain at any cost, he naturally will want to give vent to his desire. So, he goes to the whorehouse and makes love to a prostitute."
What is the source of this quote, specifically? Is it from an interview on a TV show or magazine? Unfortunately the article neglects to clarify the origin of Lo Wei's quote, so I just wanna know where it comes from. If anyone can tell me, that would be great.
From the first Nucleus magazine (published August 1997), a still from the very beginning of the final brothel sequence, where Cheng Chao-An slows down to catch his breath, and coincidentally (or deliberately?) stops outside the whorehouse......you already know how the rest goes ;)- Director Lo Wei: "The hero of The Big Boss is an energetic young man. Married to a Thai involved in the movie business out there Im toldMalalene's original name is Malalin Bonnak (in Thai มาลาริน บุนนาค) not Marilyn Bautisa. I've personally asked my Thai tourist and some Thai locals when I visited Thailand in the 80s. They told me she is their local Thai actress, not very famous but most older Thais there know her. She was born in Thailand and her family also got to do with the showbusiness. That's all I could remember.
Bonnak is a Thai surname. Malalin Bonnak's name is officially listed in HKMDB and in Thai cinema website (below) though she also has other alias such as Miss Malarin, Malalene, Marilyn Bautista, etc.
Apparently, Marilyn Bautisa is one of her stage names not her original name.
Below is a Thai website that talks a bit more about Miss Bonnak's Thai movies.
"Malalin Bonnak played in Thai movies during years 1970-1975 She is often played the "ดาวโป้" (actress who always played the girlfriend of the Mafia boss, the jealous woman, the temptress, the prostitute or the woman dressed in sexy clothes) or สาวดาวยั่วเซ็กซี่"
