Another reason why ETD didn't gross that much money in H.K. is because his death resulted in inflated ticket prices. Here is a quote from Noel Parrott's 1973 review that can be read by clicking on the Fist of Fury (?) image in the below article...

"When the fighting actor died suddenly in July, his many fans were left with only one more chance to see their hero fighting. The distributors, realising this, have pushed up admittance prices."
