I've often talked about this here and there but I realised that there is no official announcement for it. I shall remedy this now...

We're building a homepage for the website which will serve as a platform for us to better promote the hobby and the community that works so hard to support it. The main page will have a little bit about us and what we do, possibly with a few pics from the forum. There will be a page for the BritNerf events calendar and a list of organisations around the country offering events, a page promoting the various businesses that have sprouted from the community and of course, a link to the forum itself.

So what do you think? Is there anything obvious that we've missed. Anybody have any ideas about other things the pages could have?

Whilst I have your attention, I need some help. I've been trying to write a blurb for the front page that will summarize who we are and what we're about but I can't seem to string the words together. If we could all collaborate below on a couple of paragraphs that sum up the community and the hobby that would be ace.

Following some discussion on discord:

when people ask, I generally state that "BritNerf is a self governing community of Nerf organisers, players and modders, who set a minimum standard to ensure players safety and enjoyment, and are world reknowned for the quality of our games, and mods, and data collection"

Would it make sense for the homepage to have clear links to the Vault, the BritNerf wiring scheme, the gear up for an event thread, and a maybe a BritNerf expected minimum standard for events page : E.g. 100fps for indoor and kids, 130fps normal /public, eye pro mandatory, no hard tip darts, no melee, orange tip barrels and bright colours, under 16 with adult

In the past I had been put off forums by over strict rules and regulations and a reason I was hesitant to sign up to Britnerf at first, I lurked around for a few years before officially joining in. I feel Britnerf isn't such a place, there are basic rules and guidance in place for forum use and sensible rules for hosting events nothing like other forums I was on in the past.

I would say... "Welcome to Britnerf. We are a collection of Nerf enthusiasts based in and around the UK (some further afield). Some of us like to modify, some paint, some like to design and make things and some like to test those things, some just like to organise Nerf events and we all love to play with a smile on our face. Together we form a Nerf community that is the envy of the world. We now have games and events all over the UK and you can be sure of safe, well organised fun at a Britnerf affiliated event. Come along and join in."

We're nearly there with the BritNerf homepage but I need your help once again.

I'm after pictures that would look awesome on a home page. Event photos, group photos, action shots, basically anything that reflects how awesome the hobby is. Post your favourites below and I'll get them uploaded.

I'll see what I can dig out this evening. I've got loads of stuff from Bristol Blast and FFS.
