BritNerf Code of Conduct

Please take the time to read through and as always, let us know if you have any comments or suggestions.

1. We will not tolerate threatening or harassing behaviour of any kind (personal, sexual, racial, etc.). This includes comments posted in threads and in personal messages (PMs). Offences of this nature will be dealt with swiftly and carry the potential for a permanent ban.

2. Absolutely no backseat moderating. The admin team tend to deal with issues quickly. If you feel that another user has made an inappropriate post or has otherwise violated the CoC, please inform a member of the A&M team using the report system (you can report a post or user by clicking on the arrow in the top right of a post) and it will be dealt with immediately.

3. Please try to keep all threads on-topic. If you wish to talk about something else simply start a new thread. Also, don't hijack other people's threads.

4. Please try to use correct spelling and grammar. It helps to keep the forum tidy and make it more accessible to others.

5. Do not double post. Instead, use the edit button to add to your original post. The major exception to this rule is in your own sales thread which you may bump or promote edits to the original post.

6. We ask that you please respect the authority of moderators and administrators. Maintaining this forum can take up a lot of time but we do it out of love for the community and in an effort to provide a valuable resource.

7. Unless you have a pertinent update to add, please do not post in a thread that is older than 2 weeks unless it is a ‘Sticky’. This is called a necro and often stifles new discussion and can bump outdated information to the top of the forum.  If you would like to congratulate the original poster for creating an informative and helpful topic, why not send them a PM? If you would like more information about a topic, please start a new thread and link to the OP if necessary.

8. Do not start threads promoting your YouTube channel, website, business or blog. In addition to this, do not use posts in others’ topics to promote your channel/website/business/blog. The only appropriate place in which you may post said promotions is in your signature. BritNerf is a community for hobby enthusiasts, not a link dump.

9. When using the trading section, please conduct yourselves in an open, legal, ethical and respectful manner. You must have the legal right to sell the goods and/or services you are offering. If you invite offers for your goods, don’t get offended when people lowball you. If you have a price in mind let everybody know and avoid an argument. Please note that all sales/trades are solely between individuals and have nothing to do with BritNerf or the A&M team. The forum cannot intervene or settle disputes over payments or goods. Disputes must be handled via PM between individuals. Users are encouraged to review their transactions in the trading feedback thread. See the link for rules on posting in that thread

10. When using the quote function to refer to another post, please edit the quoted text to include only the part relevant to your comment. Otherwise we end up with the same text repeated over and over again within the same thread. Not only does this make the topic difficult to read but it also makes it look very untidy. As a rule of thumb, quoted text should not exceed the new content.

11. This is first and foremost a community forum, here to help support the Nerf community in the UK. Commercial event organisers are welcome to join the forum and discuss ideas and ask advice on running their events. In return for this resource, we would appreciate if these users could give something back to the community. Feel free to share your ideas with the community and suggest your own game types. We always love to hear what is working for you. Commercial events may be advertised in the ‘Wars’ forum only if they are open to the public. We don’t really care if you’re doing a party for little Jimmy in Melton Mowbray next week unless we can come and there is cake.

12. Please do not post links to eBay/gumtree/etc listings. This allows everyone to have a fair chance at nabbing a bargain and generally helps to keep prices down. The only exceptions are 'Buy it Now' items when there is more than one available, and any items that you are selling yourself on eBay. In this case it is fine to post links within your own sales thread.

I'm assuming you can violate #8 in a trading thread correct? In a commissions thread?
