Could anyone help me by identifying the thread used on the small countersunk screw fastening the rear of the rear sight please ?

Hi Sorry if it's now too late to help - I just saw your post.

The threads for the front, countersunk screw and the rear cheese head screw are the same. .093" diameter and 56 TPI. The ones I measured look to have been rolled and about a 60 degree angle.

I did a google search and this is pretty close to an American 2x56 UNC thread.

Thanks Glyn9, I did actually use a UNC screw that has held quiet succesfully.
