Hi Everyone,

Would you have a look at this "British Carbine" I am hoping to look at this weekend.

I don't have a lot of information at the moment but if anyone has any suggestions, particularly regarding the marking on the butt plate.

best regards,

I'd lean towards a Constabulary Carbine. Cannot determine much from those photos, what's visible looks original etc.
Mx I believe is the county of Middlesex.

Hi Adrian,
I bought the carbine and it does appear to be a constabulary model.
It is almost identical to the one Old Coaster posted about on 28 February 2011, the one I have got is marked on the toe of the butt plate;
Mx 33
   15
   BC
Whereas old Coasters was numbered 10.
The carbine has a sling with it which after looking at some old photographs appears to be of the type used by the constabulary.
There is a name on the woodwork opposite the lock plate which I can't read but may be something like " F B A"
Apologies for the photos.
Best regards,
