I saw that show and met him afterwards. The arrangements he does are just fantastic and he has a great voice. My daughter was too shy to pose for a photo with him so he gave her one of his crowns. Our most prized possession which sits on the mantelpiece.

I wish he would come out here to NZ but I doubt it.

first time I heard him was his version of Lorde's Royals which is far superior to the original. That's when he played a bigger role with Post Modern Jukebox (another great outfit).

I subscribed to his youtube channel. He brings out a new song every Friday. A great way to start a weekend.

Here's Puddles duetting on a Tom Waites song.

Things must be pretty desperate down under when you have to turn to Leo Sayer for inspiration.

Mist.

I didn't open this thread for a while as I assumed Mr Puddles was a metal band.

Imagine my surprise...

Thanks, I've seen this but not the intro. The guy has such a great voice, he deserves to be successful. So good to see the looks on their faces.

Puddles covers Nick Cave, nice.
The Trifecta would be if he covers Scott Walker.
He is a baritone after all.

Scott Walker? now that would be good. My favorite of his is Montague Terrace (in blue). That would work well.

He also does a really good cover of the Cure's Boys Don't Cry.

Kinda sort of...

Nite Flights would be a nice circle, but I'd settle for Boy Child.

'I'm Pierrot. I'm Everyman. What I'm doing is theatre, and only theatre....What you see on stage isn't sinister. It's pure clown. I'm using myself as a canvas and trying to paint the truth of our time on it. The white face, the baggy pants - they're Pierrot, the eternal clown putting over the great sadness of 1976.'

There have been pictures of Puddles with a dog (Latin is cynic?)
“And remember,” Wilde scolds us, “that the sentimentalist is always a cynic at heart. Indeed, sentimentality is merely the bank holiday of cynicism." Yeah, cover 'Boys Don't Cry.'
Puddles always has his suitcase (displaced person) and his lantern à la Diogenes looking for an honest man, living on a diet of onions (#cry).
I think this is a characterization he's still developing.

Yep I saw that this morning. I like the way he sings the chorus down instead of up (if that makes sens) No one has covered it this way before. Kind of refreshing for another cunt in a clown suit hahaha
