Not long now until this is released and the positive and negatives of it have been discussed, however I am quite curious as to which disc / LP you guys are going to make a beeline for to listen to first?

For me it will be the Serious Moonlight Live album then the Glass Spider Live album followed probably by NLMD 2018.

You?

I normally listen to all the discs in these sets in chronological order by original release date...but I'm most definitely giving NLMD2018 the very first spin as soon as this arrives on my doorstep this Friday

If I was forking out for it, I'd listen to NLMD 2018 first because, in a weird way, it's going to be the least familiar thing on there.
But I'm not. So I won't.

not buying it but would like to hear serious moonlight. NLMD is appalling and cannot be improved. Maybe if DB was still here and rerecorded it . . .

NLMD 2018 - because it was actually originally a fair representative album of it's age (tinny, crap production, synthesizers, drum machines) but cannot wait to hear the new sound.

The sound of the should have been silent age.

Yes you've summed up the late 80s sound well in your post.

I loved a lot of the early-mid 80s music in general, but from 1986 pop went so wrong, largely. I like to compile my favourite songs in any given year, and for 1986-1989 I've had to steer off the pop map quite a bit to do that, focussing on albums by bands that shone through the shit for me. Currently I've been re-acquainting myself with The Pixies output, as part of doing this.
We need -
Cracked Actor on DVD!
Arts Lab recordings!
The FULL 1970 Paris Cinema Studios show - forget the mistakes, enjoy the vibe!
1971 Paris Cinema Studios in STEREO - it was on a BBC radio LP.
Glasto 71 too!
Release the archives, set them free...

I'm interested to hear whether the "2018" remasters make any tangible difference to "normal" listeners

I guess I can give them a spin on Spotify for starters

I’ve only had time to listen to the two live albums and NLMD and NLMD 2018 on Apple Music and I must say they do sound great, a lot richer in sound to my ears. I would assume the actual lossless CDs sound even better. The trouble with remastering is we all hear different things. I think they are great whilst others probably don’t think so.

Does anyone know who did the remastering?

the best thing to do would be to put rip the CD to MP3 or FLAC and then put it into Audacity and see how the sound is compared to older remasters.
