I was wandering around Fopp (Uk shop: Music, Film , Books) the other day and chanced upon a pile of books - Unmade Up: Recollections of a Friendship with David Bowie which I was not aware of. Being only £3 I bought one and found it to be fascinating and a delight. Another facet to the Bowie story. I knew Bell painted some covers (most notably Scary Monsters) but was not aware of the friendship. Some great anecdotes, lucid, sparkling words. Brilliant, go get one!

What a bargain you got, mug that I am I paid full price for it when it first came out.

It is a good book though, one of the better ones for the Bowie fan, and one that specifically deals with an important Bowie collaborator in the Bowie story.
SHHWEEET! IS....A self confessed, radicalised David Bowie knob ha! ha! I’m in good company. Let’s all celebrate together.

I know! I was thrilled. It didn't have that cocky 'he was my mate and I influenced him' angle either :)) The pile of books was about 50cm high - get em whilst they are hot!

Thanks OD picked one of these up today. Nice book and it was good to read about their relationship.

The 'Milky Bar Kid' comment was brave! lol

DEK3MYDPQZAVVMA2QXE5KIYX6I.jpg Artist Edward Bell is exhibiting some of his work at Mr Underhills in Ludlow

This was in 2014. I would definitely go to see an exhibition of his. Doesn't appear to have his own web site so difficult to find out details of any show. Oh well . . .
