I’m told tomorrow’s episode of “Parts Unknown” will be somewhat Bowie-infused.
And yes, it’s a terrible tragedy...he seemed to be having so much fun. You watch the show, though, and you notice that Mr. Bourdain was death-haunted in a way Bowie fans might recognize.

Anthony loved the pulse of rock music, chopping to something like “Chinese Rocks”. A good beat sets up the rthymn of the work space, I can’t imagine pumping iron without a good thumper playing.  His ethos came through in the episode, how transgressive can we get?  Liked that they went to a cinema to see “Metropolis” eating and drinking their way along. And he was very pointed about not being able to play some Bowie tunes.  I don’t know that he has ever thrown the producers under the bus like that before.

Sitting in the Laugh Hotel
“Berlin is a city of ghosts, an ever-evolving space where memories and new ideas live side by side.”
Anthony Bourdain
With shots reminiscent of Wim Wenders’ “Wings of Desire.”
“The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment might be our last.  Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again.”
― Achilles, “Troy”
