wow its tough even for hours, more tough than you think.
it would be between new angels of promise, if i'm dreaming my life or something in the air.

i'm gonna have to go for ..... if i'm dreaming my life.

i'm actually playing hours right now.

Something in the Air would be my choice, but for me this is DB worst album,coming after Earthling this was as boring as hell,although I will say that the songs did sount much better live,the BBC version of SITA in awesome. I wonder what Bowie thinks of this cd as he never played anything from this cd live after the ..hours tour in 1999

yeah Lee
plus black tie white noise, earthling, santa monica, rarestonebowie.
a reality tour, best of the bbc.
quite a few to do.
you gonna kick off another one?

what then? when its all over we could do them all this time - your least favourite bowie song from each album.

see the end of the 3rd post & listen to the track in the 1st video,
especially starting from the 4 min 32 sec mark,
you'll hear who Bowie got his inspiration from ...

well, it certainly would've been more appropriate & respectful to explicitly name
who he was paying homage to, if that's indeed what he intended
(as opposed to plain & simple plagiarism) ...

I mean, the chord progression, the synth treatments on the vocals,
the way he pushes his voice, slides the notes & goes "tutu tutu ..." a bit like she does,
& Mike Garson actually played on the "original" too ...

Well spotted Tinkletoken. Just adds to my impression that he wasn't particularly inspired during the making of the Hours album.

'Something In The Air' for me. I'm aso partial to the single version of 'Survive', but that's another story.

As an aside, why is it, that when someone unearths the source of an obvious Bowie steal, that others seem to be a little shocked by it.

Bowie has ALWAYS stolen ideas, he has NEVER been an original at anything. Some people are simply over-obsessed with how much of a 'genius' Bowie was/is. He is not a genius, he never has been and never will be, but he made some bloody good records in his time, and that's all that matters.

I love 'hours...'
"Something In The Air" is my pick.

It has some wonderful bonus tracks & mixes.
We All Go Through sounds as if it came from Buddah Of Suburbia.
No One Calls & 1917 sound like Outside tracks.
We Shall Go to Town like an Outside / Heathen track.

That's 4 new tracks !.....half way to another album !

So I'm voting for a dark horse, we should all remember that "New Angels of Promise" was a terrific track.

Brilliant Adventure.

If you love the instrumental work on Low and Heroes then Brilliant Adventure must surely work for you? especially since it's on an album that contains much middle of the road ( for Bowie ) dross.

1ST. SOMETHING IN THE AIR { 9 VOTES }

2ND. THURSDAYS CHILD { 7 VOTES }

3RD. SURVIVE { 5 VOTES }

OTHERS = TOTAL OF 10 VOTES.

TOTAL VOTES CAST FOR HOURS = 31.

A VERY ENJOYABLE AND CONCLUSIVE POLL FOR HOURS, WITH THE EXCELLENT SOMETHING IN THE AIR WINNING OUT OVER THE LEAD SINGLE THURSDAY CHILD, SURVIVE TO BE EXPECTED ALSO MADE A GOOD SHOW.SEVEN AND PRETTY THINGS GOT 3 VOTES A PIECE, BUT I THOUGHT NEW ANGELS OF PROMISE WITH ONLY 2 VOTES DESERVED MUCH BETTER.
8 OF THE 10 TRACKS ON THE ALBUM HAD VOTES CAST FOR IT, WITH ONLY WHATS REALLY HAPPENING AND THE DREAMERS NOT POLLING ANY.
SOMETHING IN THE AIR KEEPING THE MIX OF SONGS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH ANOTHER NON SINGLE WINNING THROUGH, GREAT STUFF.
