Wow - its clearly gone to a completest buyer. Looks like a very nice payday for Dave Hadfield.

Has anyone managed to confirm yet whether this is the same tape that Dave Hadfield failed to sell at auction in 2002?

Bits I posted on BW FB group etc etc...

I had a lovely visit to Omega Auctions this morning to have a listen to The Konrads tape and see the other items.

We had an exclusive listen all the way through the tape on speakers in a private office.

Mobiles taken off us and put into their safe. Needed to take passport photo ID and preregister with Omega. Friend Craig was originally told it would be listening via headphones. Luckily we got it through speakers (maybe because there were two of us).

The 2 instrumentals: first sounded like The Shadows and the other like Buddy Holly.

I Never Dreamed - Bowie singing tracks. He is the dominant voice backed by another. The two cleaned up versions sound bright and clear.

There were 7 takes (maybe 6) of I Never Dreamed.

I Never Dreamed was written by Alan Dodds, and "arranged" by Alan Dodds, David Bowie and Roger Ferris.

The auction house description was changed after AD rang them and asked them to change it.

The instrumental 'Wonderful Land' could possibly be the middle part of The Shadows song, but I didn't recognised the famous main 6 note lead guitar hook in the intro.

Instrumental 'Hall Of Mountain Kings' - I'm still none the wiser on this.

It's not the famous 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' musical piece by Edvard Grieg before anyone asks LOL

The Konrads West Wickham gig poster is in excellent condition.

Thanks for that, Paul - I'd faint clean away with dropsy if I ever joined Facebook, so I'd missed all that!
