From The Daily Pennsylvanian, Volume XLII, Number 140, 15 April 1926 — KAHN AND GOLDKETTE TO FURNISH IVY BALL MUSIC ... ette------

The following year the Goldkette band had Bix and played opposite Vincent Lopez's band.

The Daily Pennsylvanian, Volume XLIII, Number 146, 12 April 1927 — TWO VICTOR ORCHESTRAS SECURED FOR IVY BALL ... ette------

A Comparison:
Jean Goldkette's orchestra recorded "A Lane in Spain" on Feb 3, 1927 -a Bill Challis arrangement with the Revellers on vocal.
Vincent Lopez's orchestra recorded "A Lane in Spain" on Apr 9, 1927 -with the Keller Sisters and Lynch on vocal.

I remind you that the Ivy Ball took place on May 6, 1927, not long after the two bands had recorded the tune composed in 1926 by Al Lewis and Carmen Lombardo.

Here are the recordings by

Vincent Lopez

Jean Goldkette

I wonder if one or the other band (or both or neither) played the tune at the ball..
