A list of the most recorded standards from 1900 to 1942.  I'm not surprised that St. Louis Blues and Tiger Rag top the list but Dinah is a little higher and Body and Soul a little lower on the list than I might have expected.  (That the list stops at 1942 is of course part of the explanation--while there was a flurry of early recordings of Body and Soul, it was only after Hawkins' 1939 recording that it became obligatory for every tenor saxophonist.)

Clearly, the list is obsolete. 55 recordings of Star Dust? More than 1000 in Lor'd discography.

As I said, the list deals specifically with the period 1900-1942.  Subsequent recordings don't make it "obsolete" given that it's designed for one historical period (the 1942 recording ban being a convenient demarcation line used by Rust and many others).
