See the Big West basketball board and the BW UCI basketball board for UCI responses to losing their AD to CSUN. Seems like he was highly respected by them and brought UCI's athletic programs to higher levels of success, while being a good fundraiser. Looks like a great hire.

Good times should be ahead for CSUN. Student athletes should be able to get more academic achievements as well (as long as the coaches are committed to that). Izzi at UCI was able to get coaches and student athletes involved in the community. It ends up as part of the strategy for fundraising from what I think. CSUN should be able to increase their competitiveness in several sports.

He seems like a great hire. I’m surprised CSUN could/would meet his salary demands after he was at UCI and Stanford. President Harrison is really stepping up for athletics! His fundraising success at Stanford and UCI is impressive!
