I only met Max briefly on Saturday.
So I wasn't sure how he'd be when I went into his kennel today.
Well I didn't need to worry.
He was such a good boy, stood patiently while I put a lead on him. He walked nicely, didn't pull.
We met Rufus and Holly on our way back who he greeted with a wagging tail. So it seems like he's ok with other dog's.
He does have one vice!!
He likes water :dog swimming: a lot!!
He doesn't just paddle, he swim's.
He's a really nice dog :in_love:

Max must have thought he was in doggy heaven this afternoon.
As he spent most of it wondering around with 3 friendly females. Zara, Kiera and my Yoshi.
He was the perfect gentleman :angel GSD: , well apart from the odd tail sniff :smitten:
As I've said before, he is such a lovely old boy.
Another dog who doesn't deserve to be in kennels.

Well as Max was such a good boy yesterday. I decided it was his turn for a biggsd walk.
having got him out of the kennels, he leapt straight in my car. Didn't even bat an eyelid in spite of Charlie's barking.
Once we started moving, he had a quick look around then lay down and didn't move until we got to Elstead :dogincar:
By the time the walk started he must have said hi to all the 15 other dogs, plus all the people there.
Everyone thought he was a lovely lad and couldn't believe he's 7 years old.
Like so many of the rescues I've taken to the walks, he wanted to go where all the other dogs went.
I cant help but believe if I'd let him off lead he wouldn't have gone far. But you just cant take that chance.
Even at the end of the walk he was so well behaved. Sitting along side other dogs taking treats gently while we had coffees.
I can see him becoming a regular on the walks, that's if he's not snapped up.

:gsd paw: Max will really make a great addition to the right family

I brought the lovely Mr Max home for a sleep over with my guys yesterday.
He was absolutely as good as gold here.
Although he did get read the riot act by Cher, who let him know where his place is.
Typical Max, he just rolled over and said ok.
He even quite happily ate his dinner along side of Charlie and Yoshi.
Come bedtime he decided he would sleep on the bed with me. That put Cher's nose out of joint. She glared at him, but he didn't move. He stayed there until I got up :angel GSD:
Today it was off to the biggsd walk at Chertsey :dogincar: As before brilliant in the car and once again great with every one and dogs.
There was interest in him there today.
So hopefully :fingers crossed: a possible home.

I know it's favoritism :embarassed:
But there is something about Max I just can't help but like.
So much so I brought him home Saturday to take him on the biggsd walk again. He was so good I clipped a long line on him and let him go. He didn't really need it, never went far. Just joined in and went where my lot went :angel GSD:
Being the glutton for punishment that I am. Max is staying with us for the moment :thumbs up:

Max has been in foster with me for a couple of weeks.
Almost from the start he has been off lead. Never ventures far away and comes back when called.
He's such a happy chappie. Loves to wander off to meet and greet other dogs. He also loves to be fussed by anyone.
He's so good, several times I've forgotten he's with me. Only to look round and there he is a few foot away.

Here's the sad bit.

After this mornings walk I dropped him back at kennels.
The poor lad must have wondered what he had done wrong.
The fact is he hadn't done anything wrong.
He has been the perfect house guest.
Trouble is my Cher has been bullying him and I don't want to see him get hurt.

I really hope he doesn't have to stay there much longer. He is such a loving boy with so much to give.
All he wants is a comfy bed, meals and cuddles.
