Rescuing a German Shepherd is very rewarding from both rehoming a shepherd for all the right reasons to lowering the unwanted dogs which are being picked up as strays and placed into commercial dog pounds throughout the UK, at the awful risk of being put to sleep within 7 days.
With the ever increasing numbers of dogs being placed into dog pounds or being given up to be rehomed is now at an all time high, mainly due to the financial circumstances and the dire problems of neglect.
We offer to rehome all German Shepherds throughout the UK. Dogs in the UK are suffering at the hands of their owners and the dog pounds are full to bursting along with unsuitable conditions - this is where you can help....
We work along side many rescues on the mainland and now with many rescues and rehoming sanctuaries in Ireland, to which we are able to provide help and support to all new owners, current owners and potential owners which are not german shepherd experienced. As we offer a full life-time support to all new owners, this can help to reduce any problems to which need working on, or any potential problems which could arise in the future, this helps both the dog and the owners to live in harmony, providing unconditional love and affection. Cefni is an honest, trustworthy Rescue - established August 2010, an excellent network of volunteers and followers worldwide, all with the same committed passion for German Shepherds.
Our volunteers have a vast knowledge of owning a German Shepherd, training, feeding, behaviour, socialising, psychology, health conditions, supportive network for when your shepherd passes - the list is endless, this provides the Rescue with the full back-up which is needed when owning a dog.
We take a personal interest in all the German Shepherds which have been rehomed using our Rescue, and keep in touch for updates and invite you to keep socialising your dog, joining local walks, agility groups, basic and advanced training, joining our network to share your stories and experiences with other rescue dog owners.
We are seeking volunteers to help with our pledge to rehome German Shepherds in the UK and Ireland - if you feel you would like to be involved further please follow the volunteering links - we greatly appreciate all the help we can have as we are soley run by volunteers, we have no premises to hold dogs - so we have to pay commercial kennels, no rescue cars just our own cars/vans used, no paid employees or fancy uniforms, majority of our funds are either contributed by our volunteers or by the fundraising events we hold.
We can offer to help all owners which are in need of guidance or a nudge in the right direction to obtain the best from their dog, before going down the route of rehoming or using our facilities.
Dogs are wonderful creatures, but with being from a pack background, they do need moderate guidelines and training, sometimes very mild corrective discipline and of course the love and respect from its owner. In the end you are their pack leader, whether you have 1 dog or a whole pack of them. In return you will have unconditional love and respect from your dog, a creature who will protect you and be proud of you to be his/her pack leader.
