This is my favorite post - ever - in bidding for travel!

Thank you! you've saved me lots of time, and helped me save money for myself and a boatload of friends - especially back in the days when Priceline was making us all wait 72 hours between bid sessions.

Awesome, and again, Thanks! - Mark

I just read this thread, and I'm going to try using some permutations, although I've kind of gone away from Priceline lately due to design flaws.

These permutation matrices are great for people who can store numbers in their heads, but I always use the Priceline Combinatrix tool that comes up with all permutations (in a list you can check-off) for your zones: http://www.ashwinpurohit.com/priceline

So I bidded on a hotel for Las Vegas and I had 5 zones checked.  My bid was rejected so I hit the back space 3-4 time until I was back at the page where I chose my zones.  I deleted one of the zones and went back for the next bid the screen says "We're still working on your request."  So it will not do my new request.  What happened?  Do I need to do the free bid at then end of my first time, where it says I can rebid one more time?  Thank you for the help in advanced.

Thanks so much for this info! We used this method to win our 1st Priceline Hotel Bid! We had 30 free re-bids! We were bidding in the Miami area & there are alot of zones which help to make alot more combinations.

We won 4* Hilton Miami Airport for $75. We bid 30 times, increasing our bids by $1.

So awesome! Thank you, thank you!

This is a great post, but is it still relevant? I see commercials on tv now saying that you don't have to bid any more.  Its the one with penny from the big bang theory and the negotiator dropping her off at a shaolin temple.  I still see name your own price with bidding involved so what is this commercial talking about?

Nothing has changed with Name Your Own Price. You are referring to Express Deals which is an additional product.
Please place all of your Priceline bids through our Priceline link.

Thanks Sheryl that is good to know. I'm new to bidding and never used priceline, so its great to know I can still take advantage of this strategy.

Please place your Priceline/Hotwire bids/purchases through the link in my signature or by clicking the Priceline/Hotwire banners on the right side of the screen. And please keep Priceline in mind for your conventional travel bookings as well.
