Please read the introductory comments I have made for each category on the Hotwire section of this board.
The purpose of posting in this section is not to list Hotwire's prices, because anyone can check that for themselves. The purpose is to make everyone an informed bidder by posting instances where Hotwire has beaten Priceline's price, or any other information that will enable us to make an informed decision.
Any postings that violate these rules will be deleted. Here's an example of a post that was just deleted because it does not offer any useful information in making an informed decision:
"LAX 7/28-30/01 Economy $21 per day
The lowest rate I found was $20 per day with some company I had never heard of, through Travelocity. The lowest of the majors was $27 per day on Hertz. Bid $10 economy on PCLN than rebid $15. Took the Hotwire price, and got budget, total price: $50. I have yet to get a good car rental deal through Priceline, and didn't really want to mess with it."
Anyone can choose to pay more if they'd like, but having a $15 bid rejected and voluntarily choosing to pay $21 does not serve the purpose of informed bidding.
Just a reminder. We continue to see postings to the Hotwire section of the board that do not meet the rules of posting in that section and I continue to remove them.
This is not a Hotwire message board. Hotwire data points should only be posted when they contribute to informed bidding.
