PL won't let me bid

I have waited 24 hours plus anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to rebid on a car and I keep getting the error message that I can't rebid within 24 hours.

Here's the latest example:

Bid for a full size car at $14 rejected Sun, 13 Apr 2008 10:03:30 -0400 (EDT)
Bid for a mid size car at $14 rejected Sun, 13 Apr 2008 10:07:02 -0400 (EDT)
Bid for a standard size car at $14 rejected Sun, 13 Apr 2008 10:08:48 -0400 (EDT)

Rebid for a full-size the next day and was rejected as too soon. Here's the timestamp on that email:

Mon, 14 Apr 2008 10:42:55 -0400 (EDT)

So I tried again a couple of hours later, changing to a mid-size just to be safe, and got another rejection (as too soon) with this timestamp:

Mon, 14 Apr 2008 12:11:55 -0400 (EDT)

Am I doing something wrong?

I've had that same problem at times. I once tried emailing Priceline--which was worse than useless. They just stated that you are allowed to bid every 24 hours. I've actually been trying to bid for a car for the last 10 days or so...have been bidding about every TWO days because of this problem. I'd like to be able to fix it but just don't have the energy to deal with Priceline's customer service. But it really is some glitch in their system. I, too, have tried over and over after 24 hrs. have passed, and been told it was a duplicate bid. If anyone has any words of advice, we're listening....

I am not sure if this is a solution, but I always sign off Priceline after a losing bid and I delete any Email back from Priceline ASAP.

I then wait 27 hours to rebid and I have not had problems recently.

I think once you try and get told you can't bid yet, even that resets the clock to another 24 hours from that failed transaction.

When I've got long enough til I need something, I like the every-other-day approach since I don't have to watch the clock so carefully.

I'm having the same problem bidding for a hotel. If it resets the 24-hour clock every time you're told you can't bid yet, then that is a problem they should fix, because the message you get when it recognizes a duplicate bid and says you can't bid yet specifically says you have to wait 24 hours from the ORIGINAL bid, not the attempt that was too early. What would be the point of wait an additional 24 hours anyway? It makes no sense, and it's not in anybody's best interest. If this is truly the case, it's a major glitch and needs to be fixed. Very frustrating.
