I booked two rooms for four nights at the hotel in March 2009 through Priceline at an awesome price ($80/night). We wanted to stay close to MSG without breaking the bank.

The hotel was very clean, just opened in Dec 2008, and had great brand new fixtures, decent amenities and free wi-fi. The room had a nice steam shower (but no bath). Rooms had a small safe that would fit a laptop if you removed the shelf.

Overall the street the hotel is on was pretty quiet for NY, but there was a loud party/rave going on across the alley our first night.

The rooms are small, but that's fairly common in NYC. The restaurant was good (and had vegan/vegetarian options) but a little slow.

Service was outstanding. The bell captain ran down the road to get us a cab on a freezing evening, check-in/check out was pleasant (no Priceline comments), and everyone on the staff we encountered had a smile/friendly greeting.

It was a solid "win" for us given the price, location, cleanliness and overall service level for the hotel. But if you want to have more than 2 people in the room be prepared to be "cozy" and don't bring a lot of luggage.

My daughter and I arrived early on 6/3, and stopped in to see if they had a room available yet. The desk clerk said a room was available immediately. She asked if we would prefer two beds, and I said yes as it would be more comfortable for us. When she asked for my credit card, she said there would be a $30 upcharge for the double room, since priceline does not guarentee type of bedding. I had not understood she was trying to sell an upgrade. I declined the charge, and asked for the standard priceline room instead. She then informed me that none were available until the normal check in time. Not a problem for us, but all in all I was disappointed that they tried upsell that way, and told me a room was available when in fact it was only available if I were willing to pay more.

We checked our luggage and returned later in the day. Check in was smooth, she had retained my information from our earlier stop in. The room was comfortable and clean, and overlooked their new patio.

Housekeeping staff was excellent. We requested an extra blanket. 5 minutes later, they called to apologize it had not been delivered yet, since they were on a shift change. Within 5 more minutes it was delivered. We asked the gentleman who brought it if he knew where we could pick up some plastic silverware. He went to the staff break room and brought us some right away. Great attitude and service.

Many restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. Easy walk to Penn Station and Times Square. I would definitely stay there again.
