Sheryl - so glad that you're back and this board is still going. Just stay away from Flyer Talk!

Hey Sheryl,

Welcome back, and I have the perfect solution for you!  Come up here to Canada, free health care, I’ll set you up in a great hospital, it’s free and all you gotta do is daily laundry for you and the other 14 people in the ward, wash dishes in the kitchen for a few hours, maybe some floor scrubbing.  It’s a pretty good room when the crazy ones aren’t doing their “cookoos nest” thing, except the railway track is on one side and the sawmill is on the other, kind of noisy when both are going by, mostly at night.  It’s about a hundred below these days so wear lots of layers if they let you out for a walk.  A big gob of Vaseline on yer nose will stop frostbite.

One floor is listed as a Priceline 0.1 star, but we’re not sure b/c no one ever stayed there.  But excellent news, there is no resort fee.  And your doc will be this mysterious Inuit (Eskimo) doctor, Odd-doc, he doesn’t speak English and makes you eat raw whale blubber and lichens, he’s been in jail on public drunkenness but the Mounties just let him out and he’s got a new batch of tribal potions.  Odd-doc’s got one good tooth left and he’s proud of it so say something nice about it.  His wives have all left him to he might be smiling at you a lot.  He’s about 95 but all the wrinkles are cute, and he’s almost 5 feet tall.

I dunno if this is better than your current arrangements, but what an interesting change, eh?  No need for a bidding strategy, just pack yer bags.

All the very best whether you come up or not,

-Bob the Canuck, (hey, I was kidding, it's only 20 below)

Are you a Canadamedien Bob? You should be. By the way, can you place your bids through the Amazing-Bargains.com link? It's accepted for Canadian bids but they charge the GST.

Sheryl, yes I go to the A-B page and use the PL hotels button at the top, it works fine.  We are for sure taxed to death in Canada, retail shopping in the US is such a treat, here it's 13 % tax, now called the HST, in most states it's under 6 %.  And our airport fees are huge, about a hundred bucks total tax to fly international out of Toronto, and about $15 to fly out of Detroit nearby. All that snow in Dallas at the Super Bowl is our fault too, sorry.  But anyway both those teams know all about snow!
All the best,
-Bob

Bob, the international flight tax out of Detroit and everywhere else depends on where you're flying to. That's why airfares to London are out of sight.

Like so many others, I've been checking often to see if there's been word from you.  So nice ot hear from you again.  I'm sorry to learn of your loss.  I wish you all the best, and I hope that you can return here routinely.  [LOL  I'm sure we all now realize how much energy you'd been putting into this place.]
