We stayed over Christmas and enjoyed the visit.
This is downtown and most rooms should have a view of the river. It is an older property but in the midst of remodeling (finish date May 07). There are two towers, east which is probably all remodeled and west, which will be finished late spring or summer.
We were given a two room suite which was wonderful, 2 TVs, refrigerator, great view of the river. Christmas meant very few rooms rented and after the entire renovation I suspect Priceline users will get the regular rooms in the west tower. We checked out the west tower and the some rooms will be smaller than others, but it looks as if they will be nicely done and if you are up high, the views will be good (OK, you may have noticed we like a river view.)
Staff was very nice and public areas are good, but like many properties I doubt they are used much.
This is attached to the convention center by hallways. There don't seem to be a tremendous amount of rooms downtown so we haven't been able to get here again until late January.
Parking is underground, it was $9 a day. You are within walking distance of everything downtown and there is access to the park from the pool area.
The main downside I can see is since this is right next to the interstate, lower rooms may have some noise. There is an outdoor pool.
We enjoyed our stay and recommend this to anyone.

First review for the Galt House:
Stayed there one night on 3/3/06. It's a nice old place with a great location. It's two towers right on the river. There is a great looking restaurant with awesome views in one tower. At the top of the other tower is a fitness center. An enclosed walkway connects the East and West tower. There is a bar with flat screen tv's and couches in the walkway. Check out the glass bar that has live fish in it. There's also a large bird cage in that area.
The hotel has been recently renovated (maybe still going on somewhere, but we didn't notice it). We received two rooms on the 21st floor in the West Tower. Nice double bedded, non-smoking rooms. When I called them, they said that's what they normally assign to PL customers. Self parking was $9 and valet was $16. The location was great - very close to the 4th street downtown area with the Hard Rock cafe, etc.
When we arrived, I requested a room that could sleep 5 and Marcus said no deal. He got me a roll away bed for an extra $10, so that was fine. An overall good stay for $45.
