Just wanted to put in a good word for the Courtyard hotel in Huntsville, AL. I stayed here on the night of Sunday, May 30 on a $45 bid.
Everything about this hotel was just what I expected from a Courtyard property. I got a nice, spacious room with a sitting area and plenty of working space; it overlooked a patio, equipped with lawnchairs, that opened onto a nice interior courtyard with walking paths and a gazebo. The staff members at the front desk were very courteous and professional. There is free wireless internet access inside each room (although curiously, the access points in the lobby and public areas are not free). As with most Courtyard hotels, there's a hearty breakfast buffet which is not included in the room price; this particular Courtyard also had a comfortable bar/lounge area which is only open on weekdays. There is also a (limited) exercise room and pool area which is good for families.
Overall, this is a lovely property that looks like it's in brand-new condition, and I'd definitely love to stay here again if I was in the area in the future. While it is not directly located on the main interstate highway, the hotel is nevertheless a quick drive from the nearest exit, and is located on a large commercial street with a number of large restaurants (Macaroni Grill, Denny's, etc.) and shopping establishments (a mall, and a separate Best Buy/Barnes & Noble). It is also near the U.S. Space Center/museum/space camp, as well as the many aerospace/defense-related businesses located in between the hotel and space center.
