Started out at $15+ $3 bonus cash ($18) and tried compact thru full-size.  At $19+ $3 bonus cash ($22) I tried full-size thru mid-size and was rejected.  For same $19+ $3 bonus ($22) was accepted for a compact with Budget, $211 with taxes and fees.  Cheapest cancellable rate I could find a day ago (with codes) was $265 at Avis.

Thank you for posting your bid. I think you bid too high for a Compact too far in advance because you wanted to use the bonus money which, I think in this case (like with so many others) it was just wasted. I think if you would have waited, you would have paid less than $19/day without the bonus money. Bonus money is just marketing on Priceline's behalf and you did just what they wanted you to do. I have an announcement about this in Administrator Announcements. Priceline requires patience.

Please place your Priceline/Hotwire bids/purchases through the link in my signature or by clicking the Priceline/Hotwire banners on the right side of the screen. And please keep Priceline in mind for your conventional travel bookings as well.

Please update your email address in your Yuku profile if it's no longer current and please post all of your bids when you obtain them.
Please place all of your Priceline bids through our Priceline link.
Please check rates at Hotwire and make your bookings through our Hotwire link.

You might be right, Sheryl. We'll only know for sure if someone posts a similar bid closer to my dates. Of course doing so risks the inverse: you might pay more than me if there is little supply and too much demand. For the same stretch of time hotels in downtown Charleston are selling out or sold out, so playing the waiting game for a hotel would backfire. Likewise maybe with a car too. In this case I'm willing to risk that I paid $15 or $20 more with the piece of mind it's done, much cheaper than what I found normally and might end up being cheaper than if I waited.
