Calling Priceline, can't get a human

I've been having trouble with Priceline (not letting me re-bid AFTER the 24 hours are up). E-mails to customer service are worse than worthless, canned responses without looking at the info I'm sending them. They told me I could call Customer Service if I wanted to. I'm sure they got a laugh out of that suggestion since they knew it is only an automated system.

Is there any trick to being able to get through to a real live human being on the telephone?

Just curious, is this for a hotel bid or a rental car bid?
Please place all of your Priceline bids through our Priceline link.

Car rental. It's happened twice in the past week.

I wait over 24 hours, bid again and get an error message telling me I didn't wait 24 hours. Repeated e-mails to customer service (and I use that term loosely) just get canned replies telling me I have to change something (car class, date, etc.) in order to bid again even though their policy clearly states that after 24 hours you can make the same bid if you wish (I am raising the rate each time).

Glad your back Sheryl but I have to say that after such poor customer service Priceline is not a company I'm interested in dealing with any longer. I'm booking my car rental directly through Avis, yes paying more money, in order to get good service.

That's a problem that I've had too, krampus. I don't have any answers...All I did was bid every other day, which won't always work for everyone. But this is a true Priceline glitch that others have complained of too. It IS frustrating--especially when you get those idiotic automated replies that say the same things over and over and do not speak to your complaint. Perhaps someday Priceline will wake up to the fact that great customer service should be an intrinsic part of a truly successful business plan!
