Bidding assistance price line Waikiki beach

Resort fees are prevalent in certain zones. Keep in mind that some hotels charge excessive resort fees which you may be unable to dispute as Priceline now states on their website that these fees are your responsibility.

Hi first time user here wondering if you could help with my priceline bid.

I couldn't find the link to the bidding request form so I apologise in advance if there is info missing, please let me know!

looking at 4 * Waikiki Beach bids staying 04/17 to 04/23 the retail on priceline is as follows (i am in AUS and can't seem to get other hotel discount booking sites to quote in USD)
Hawaiian Prince - $179
Outrigger Reef- $219
Outrigger Waikiki- $239
Hyatt Regency- $192
Waikiki beach Marriot- $229

I'm not sure what is a realistic starting bid of properties during this time?  I usually book using expedia etc.

any help appreciated

Below the Announcements, you'll find a section called "Frequently Asked Questions"; from there, navigate to Frequently Asked Questions -> Hotels -> Bidding Assistance Form. Post the information requested there as a reply to this thread. I strongly recommend that you read the entire Hotel FAQ first (Frequently Asked Questions -> Hotels -> Hotel FAQ).

You need to know the answer to question 9. Free rebid zones are covered in the Hotel FAQ.

wow ok well that was interesting......
I think i have the rebid zones down now given that there aren't any 4 star properties located in these areas is that correct?
after initial bid in waikiki beach
2. diamond head
3. executive center
4. airport

also i have read other successful bids here on "resort" class hotels this doesn't appear for me on priceline? only the star ratings appear for me

Thanks

Correct! "Resort" used to be a separate rating on Priceline, but it was eliminated last year. The 4.5* rating was introduced at the same time, and the Resort properties were re-rated (anywhere from 3.5* to 5*).

Since the Hawaii Prince is $179 through Priceline's retail service, your limit will more than suffice if you want to lock in now. I would start at $120 for a 4* in Waikiki Marina. If rejected, add Waikiki Beach and raise to $125, then use your free rebid zones to raise in $5 increments.

Thanks for your suggestion, Marina would probably be my second choice. What would you suggest for waikiki beach area?

OK so i bid the following

1st- Waikiki beach $125 (bit cheeky but thought i would try!) failed
2nd added executive center $135
3rd added diamond head and increased to 4.5 $140
4th and final attempt added airport $145

probably bidding too low especially this far out and also given that it is the easter break, but better to try and get the lowest price right? will try again tomorrow Image would really love to get either outrigger!!!

Tomorrow is probably too soon to bid for Waikiki Beach again. My strategy would likely have gotten you a hotel in the Waikiki Marina zone; in the future, please don't indicate that a zone is acceptable if you're not prepared to bid for it at the time you ask for assistance.

The next time you bid, check the Express Deals from the rejection page if your bid is rejected; it's often a good guide to what rates are available through Name Your Own Price (in this price range, you can probably expect to pay 5-10% less than the Express Deal). Looking at the Express Deals from the search page is also a good idea, though not quite as reliable.

Please continue to bid through our Priceline link, and not from a Priceline email.

Thank you, initially I was happy to go with the marina but after discussing the pros and cons with my husband it was decided that it would be better to try for 4* waikiki beach area, apologies but i do appreciate your input.

will keep an eye out for now and maybe re-bid on wednesday/thursday
