I did my research (frequent bidder/forum user) and bid on 3.5* downtown from $79-$89 - no luck
I see an express deal for $99 - but am worried about getting a hotel that's not really downtown.

Any comments/suggestions.

I can make suggestions as to a winning bid when I see available rates. The best deals for Saturday checkins come at the last minute. As to the location, it can be anywhere within the geographical parameters on the Priceline zone map.

Bidding details - waited to see if pricing moved much - but it hasn't since I tried bidding a week ago.

3.5* Hilton $199

3* Indigo $192
3* Best Western $110

I'm not interested in bidding on a 3*

Rebid zones Jersey City W and Union.

Bids tried today $95, $105, $115

$117 is my limit, I have a cancellable backup Wyndham Garden at the airport at $79 a night but would prefer to be downtown but not at $199/night.

Thanks for the update. You'll need patience on this one. It's nowhere near last minute.

You're essentially bidding for one hotel, which is usually not the way to get a good deal (though it could happen, of course). When you say that you're not interested in bidding for a 3*, do you mean just for now, or do you mean that you would prefer staying at your backup hotel to bidding for a 3*?
