Not a bargain, probably too far ahead for that, but I got impatient.  Previous wins in the peak summer period were from $135 - $170.  I've been watching PL Express deals which has a 5* for $203 in the same area, with one ammenity that they accept pets for a fee, and the only 5* on the BFT hotel list that accepts pets is the Meridien, which we really like.  Didn't want the Renaissance b/c so many review say how small the rooms are.  Very few previous Eurostars hits so thought it was unlikely.  So I was thinking a winning bid might score the Meridien, but nope.  I should have checked the Eurostars site before bidding, a few months ago a basic room for July was $238.  Now their basic single room with "small bed" is $145, and a double room is $162 (2 of us), so hoping for the latter, probably have to beg for that, PL usually gets the lowest rooms.
I've done a few bids in the last few weeks going up to $170 using free rebids, with no luck.  I jumped this bid from $150 to $165 for no good reason, so a bid between those might have been accepted.  Still happy not to have to pay $203 for the Express offer.
Used the PL link on BFT to support this site, thx staff.

The terminology is confusing unless you realize that double in Spain is referring to # of beds, not occupants or mattress size.
