Hi Jfcrken,
Wow! No kidding! As a long time user of this site and visitor to BKK and Singapore, I don't believe I have ever seen a winning price this low at the Amari Watergate! Congrats!

Hope you remembered to go to the Amazing-Bargins website first to connect to PL?

If you get a moment after your stay, please post something to say how you liked it.

This hotel I have been and Its a great hotel, with the exception of the distance from the sky train and the extremely hard beds.

I had already added 4* and was upgraded to "5*" and was quite suprised to get in there at that price, and then we got there. Had never been there before but have been in real 5* hotels in bkk before. To call this one a five is laughable. Of course it is nice, but definitely dated; the nice touches one would expect just didn't exist, especially in the bathroom. (My wife was rather disappointed there was no bum gun lol, a real 5* in bkk would probably have a bidet) As I understand it Amari is a Thai brand, the international hotels leave this one far behind. For anyone hopeing for five star I would avoid the Siam square area because this one is just not up to snuff. Should I complain to priceline? Yes I did use the amazing bargins link.

Hi again Jfcrken,
Thanks for your report.

Of course you are right, there are much better 5*'s in BKK, but they would be very difficult to find at the price you won this one for.

This hotel in this zone, keeps me from bidding for 5*'s here... so if you don't agree that this is a 5*, yes, please complain to PL. If they get enough negative feedback on the star level, they do make adjustments.
