4* Union Square East - Kimpton Sir Francis Drake 6/29-7/1 $110

There are some hotels in Downtown San Francisco that restrict occupancy to 2 people per room and have only one double bed.

Wanted to focus on Union Square East (due to location and the specific hotels there). Bid $100 for a 4*; got a counter-offer of $149 which I ignored. Added SFO North (San Bruno) which only has up to 3.5* properties and increased bid to $110. Accepted. However I was unpleasantly surprised that a $50 'resort fee' was added on top of the other taxes and fees, which pushed my 2-night stay up over $300. Hmmmmm.  Joined Kimpton Karma rewards program to get $10 daily mini-bar credit and free Wi-Fi (what the heck is that resort fee for if the Wi-Fi isn't free??). Hoping I can sweet talk them into waiving the resort fee. We'll see.

Offer Price: $110.00/night
Number of rooms: 1 Room
Number of nights: 2 Nights
Room Subtotal: $220.00
Hotel Fee1: $50.00
Taxes & Fees: $46.94
Total Charged Today: $266.94
Total Cost: $316.94

Kimpton also waived the $50 resort fee due to my Kimpton Karma membership (which is free), so that was great. And we got a $10 mini-bar credit and another $10 credit that could be credited to our bill or used at the bar since we waived housekeeping the first night we were there. The staff also accommodated my request for a room with a king bed, vs. the one queen bed in the room we were originally assigned. Great location and loved the historic details and funky décor at this property. Small bathroom, but that's par for the course at historic properties and it was functional so not a big deal to us.
