This bid was made on Oct. 28th.

I really wanted to get the Marriot, both because as a Platinum Rewards member I almost always get a room upgrade, plus free breakfast & afternoon appetizers & snacks in Executive Lounge. As such, I bid $110 in Buenos Areas area, as it appeared from bidding history that this was the amount that usually won this hotel. Unfortunately I got the Sheraton.

Checked into the Sheraton last night, and though of course I didn't get upgraded and the buffet breakfast is US$28, this appears to be a new hotel, and in my opinion the rooms are much nicer! The two hotels are about 2 blocks from one another, so equally convenient.

I will need to bid on hotels in BA again, and wonder if bidding in one zone or another will increase my chances of getting the Liberator?

Well just bid the zone this hotel is located in. That seems obvious to me. Am I misunderstanding your question?

I just looked at Priceline's website and there is currently only one biddable zone in Buenos Aires. The other zone is greyed out so you can't bid it.

I may be mistaken (often am!) but it appears to me that there are two zones for Buenos Aires--the first is listed as Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the second is listed as Centro, Argentina, but I think this actually refers to the downtown business district of Buenos Aires, otherwise refered to as centro Buenos Aires. The two zones mostly overlap, and the Marriott and Sheraton are very close to one another, so it's likely a moot point.

Priceline's retail listings as to the zones are irrelevant if that's what you are referring too.
