This review is from when the hotel was the 3* Hotel Theodore.
This is one of the few times I have been disappointed with a rating of a Priceline Hotel room. I had not seen the Mondrian awarded in this zone, and was excited when I received a winning bid at $70. I checked the website, and boy do they make it look nice, but it doesn't live up to the depiction on the site. The best thing about the Mondrian is its location in Old Town Scottsdale; it is within walking distance to the Giants ballpark and art galleries and shops. But that's about it. The hotel is not terrible, its just not 4*. It's an old hotel which has been renovated. The grounds and lobby are relatively nice, and it has a nice pool area, but the rooms are not up to standard. Its is as though someone tried to make a luxury room out of a motel 6 room, but didnt quite make it. I paid $70, and feel this is about what the hotel was worth. If I had paid the $200+ rate on their website, I really would have been disappointed. The "spa" was closed the entire stay. There is a $10 per day parking charge.

*****BEWARE****** This is new hotel and is a "romper room" 2* quality hotel. This is the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT (10+ yrs bidding on priceline) I have ever had and am so disappointed in priceline for giving this "JOKE" of hotel a 4* rating. This is an old days inn converted to (laughable) 4* hotel on a 2* budget. The decor is that of a preschool and looks like PEE WEE Herman decorated it. One wall of the room is bright orange, another purple another bright green. Everything is CHEAPLY done! All rooms are exterior access only. My micro closet was so lacking depth I could not close the sliding door because the hanger stuck out 4" past the door. Plastic furn on the patio, there was a hole behind my door handle with patch over it. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors. The bed SQUEAKED every time you moved in it. TACKY TACKY TACKY. Do not bid this area until priceline resolves this BIG MISTAKE! I hope I haven't sugar coated this too much. I did "bi*c* a fit at the front desk and the girl upgraded me to a suite, ( I'm not sure if she realized I was a priceline customer) So now I have a larger TACKY room. Oh they do have robes in the room that look like they are made of terry cloth with loose threads hanging off it. Postcards on the wall, cheap couch, etc.
