So i was bidding Incline Village to score the Hyatt having successfully done so many times before. Started bidding at $80, 90, 101, 115 and then rebid up to $127, all failing. Published room rate was $319 for 7-28 - 7-30. That winning bid should have been around $127 per night (40% of  $319 is $127.60).

Changed plans as Incline Village Hyatt with resort fee and taxes added around $100 to the total stay for two nights.

Started to bid South Lake Tahoe CA, not NV (hotels on NV side not a s nice as Timberlodge and NV is 10 steps away from CA in SL Tahoe.) Plus Marriott Timber Lodge has full kitchens, locking room separate from kids and a great pool area along with beach privileges.

Bid $101 knowing rack rate was $250 p/n. Offer was declined but was offered free bid if i increased my offer by $13 to $114 total. I declined the free rebid.

Restarted my bid at $108 using two zones and offer was accepted.

Total for two nights came to $259.88 (all included).

Bid through BFT PL link. TYVM for all you do here. I am so loyal and only travel via PL these days. Doing so has allowed me to travel 2x as much as I used to.

Just curious was this a studio room, 1BR or 2BR?  Thanks.

gores95, sorry for not seeing this when you posted it.

the room on this trip/bid was the studio. in past stays and bid on PL, we have gotten the 1br and 2br rooms as well. it really just boils down to what Timber Lodge wants/has to sell when you're bidding.

we have stayed at this property 5 or 6 times over the years. it's centrally located and near everything in SLT.

oh, and park your car in the Harvey's lot which is adjacent to the Timber Lodge. parking is free there.

The website says they have a mandatory $29/night valet parking now. Is Harvey's still allowing parking or has that gone away (or do you know)? Thanks.

Good question. I don't know for sure but Harvey's has a substantial sized parking lot. I find it hard to believe Harvey's would charge for generic parking in that casinos draw day-people and overnight guests. That is unless they're so hardpressed for revenue.

Timberlodge has limited underground parking so I can see them charging for parking. Are they calling it a resort Fee or is it a parking/valet fee? Or is it a fee ONLY if you use the valet?

The Timberlodge, while a nice facility, has its pros and cons. The part of South Lake they're located in is very "party" atmosphere and IMO, becomes less and less family friendly, especially on weekends.

We prefer to try to grab the Hyatt Incline Village as our go to Tahoe vacations. The Hyatt resort is superior in amenities and relaxation for the Tahoe region. If you've never stayed at the Hyatt you should give it a try. Weekends are nearly impossible to get up there. We try to get Tuesday-Friday stays as Tahoe is less busy and more enjoyable weekdays than weekends.

We just stayed in Atlantis in Reno this weekend and had a great time. We were there to see Howie Mandel at GSR. Reno has some great places to stay and some really good values but it depends on what you're looking for.
