Began bidding on a 4 star hotel at $60, rejected, added a zone, bid $70 and was rejected again.

Will wait 24 hours and try again!

Please post the lowest available rate for a 4* and name the hotel alongside the rate per our Posting Guidelines for Failed Bid Postings.

Please place your Priceline/Hotwire bids/purchases through the link in my signature or by clicking the Priceline/Hotwire banners on the right side of the screen. And please keep Priceline in mind for your conventional travel bookings as well.

Hotwire is offering 4 Star hotel in central Buenos Aires for $55 and another 4* hotel in Recoleta-Retiro area for $56.

I've never used hotwire before, but I understand that there rating (star) system does not necessarily coincide with Priceline's star rating system.

That's right. Whatever Hotwire has, Priceline will have for less and most Marriotts do not participate with Hotwire. Are you going to bid higher now since it's last minute?

I think you have two choices, you can either bid higher tomorrow or risk purchasing whatever Hotwire has. If you purchase from Hotwire, please use our Hotwire link.

My best guess is that Hotwire's 4* in Buenos Aires is the Park Central Unique and the 4* in Recoleta-Retiro is the Park Elegance Unique, both of which are only a few dollars more per night on Hotwire's retail listings.

Spent the first three nights at a local B&B operated by a British couple for $100/night.

Bid again on 4 star for Oct. 26 - 28th, bid $90, rejected, added a zone, bid $100, rejected, changed dates from Oct. 26th to Oct 29th, bid $110 and got the Marriott. Reviews on the internet are only so-so, hopefully it will be OK.
