$189-199 current rates for downtown Hilton, Hyatt, Westin, Renaissance, & Kimpton

Used free rebids, starting at $60 (because of large number of free re-bid zones).  Received "Limited time offer" starting @$70 bid for the Kimpton Hotel @132.00/night.  It was offered again at $75 rebid and $80 rebid.  I stopped at $80 because the total with tax was $100/night, which is my current limit for the night.

There is an express offer for $109.00 right now for a 4* Downtown Cleveland, so I'm guessing that might be the Kimpton.  I'm surprised to see the Kimpton, because in my past experience (which admittedly is limited) I've never seen a Kimpton winning bid.

I will try again in the next couple of days, although I'm not sure anything will change before Monday.

Bid through the BFT priceline link, as always.

Ok, I've changed my mind, and I now believe it's the Westin that is the express deal. Attempted my bids again today with exactly the same result of $132 Kimpton offer, and the $109 Express Deal.

I've compared the hotel amenities offered in the express deal with those offered in the list view with hotels identified, included the review rating, and the original price on the Express deal with the list view price, and it most closely fits that of the Westin. If there is something else I can do to guess the Express deal hotel, I'd appreciate any tips you are willing to offer. I realize that with only one night being bid I don't meet your criteria in asking for help.

Also, I was wondering if you get a benefit from me clicking through to priceline from your site if I'm just going to do research? I always do when I'm bidding, but if I'm just checking things out, sometimes I just type priceline directly into my browser. If it benefits BFT just to click through even when I'm not bidding, I'll come here first and use the link.

Tried my bids again today.  Instead of receiving the named offer for the Kimpton for $132/night at bids of $70, 75, 80, & 85, I received a counteroffer suggesting that I raise my bid to $114.00/night.  Wouldn't accept that knowing that I can choose an express deal for $109.00, and at least have a decent idea of which hotel I expect to get.  I'll try again the next two nights, but I'm starting to believe that I'm not going to get anything for under $100.  While still a good deal off the listed rate, I was hoping to stay under that since we have the added cost of parking downtown.

Finally had a bid accepted today.  Started the same as in my previous failed attempts, at $60, using rebids to increase incrementally.  Beginning with $60 bid today (and every bid in $5 increments up, i.e. 65, 70, 75), I received a named hotel counteroffer for the Kimpton Schofield at $105.00/night, compared to previous offers of $132.00/night for the Schofield on earlier bids this week.  The express deal was still at $109 for the unnamed 4* downtown.  I decided that I would bid up to $95 for the 4*, and if that was rejected, then I would accept the Kimpton Schofield at $105, since I knew what hotel it was, it has great reviews and is close to Progressive Field, which was the reason for our overnight trip. At $92, just when I was accepting the idea that I would have to accept their counteroffer, my bid was accepted.  I ended up saving $13 from the counteroffer, and $104 off of Priceline (and Kimpton's website) regular hotel listings.

Bid was placed using the BFT priceline link, as usual.

Hooray for my first priceline stay in a Kimpton.  (I've stayed at Kimptons before, just never through Priceline.)
