I know it's early but... I typically bid $106 and get the W around this time of year.  I went up to $133 using my free bid zones as the Hyatt (4*) is listing at $221 per night.  I hope I'm just bidding too early and the rejection is not due to something going on that weekend.

Sheryl,

Sorry...I just looked at my old post from 2012 for the same bid and you advised me to wait until early December. I will be patient!

That retail rate doesn't indicate anything special is going on. Just like I said last time, it's just too early. Keep monitoring the Express Deal rate.

Hi Sheryl, I checked the Hyatt ($208) and W ($303)before placing my 4* bid for 12/12 - 12/14. I used the freebid zones and placed bids of $106, $116, $126,and $136 and none were accepted. I am considering switching star levels which might be better for us anyways as the Courtyard by Marriott is priced at $199 and is closer to the PATH to NYC.

After several failed 4* bid attempts in Jersey City - Hoboken /Weehawkin for December 12 - 14, I decided that the 3* Courtyard Newport would work so I bid 3* and upped my price  to $128 (which was still a 35% savings on the Courtyard).  "Voila" - I ended up with the 4* Hyatt and am very happy as this was a 50% savings and the property has excellent reviews.  I booked this on December 2nd and of course I used the BFT link!
