Using Name Your Own Price through Priceline last night, I booked the Washington Marriott Georgetown for 3 nights at $70 per night.
I started in the downtown region bidding at $60 and was ofcourse rejected outright. I then moved up to $65 and $70 as I also added areas, including the Georgetown/Foggy Bottom area. Much to my surprise, the Washington Marriott Georgetown accepted my $70 per night offer for July 1 through July 4.
Parking: I was overjoyed with the hotel price per night, but was mortified to see that parking for this hotel is abhorrently expensive. I searched parking in DC and found the Parking Panda website (parkingpanda.com). I was able to reserve parking with free cancellation up until the day of from 7/1 through 7/4 at a parking deck in Arlington near the Rosslyn Metro Station. This parking was a fraction of the price of the hotel's parking at $28 for the entire 3 day span. And since we'll be walking or taking the Metro for the entire trip, we don't super easy car access.
Anyone done this before and parked further out from the downtown area for a better price when you find a deal on a hotel downtown? How'd it go?
