Very last minute! Total was $395 with tax. The hotel direct has rooms for $429 both nights. Depending on currency changes the price is basically the same room only. It is not a at least a 15% discount as advertised. Frustrating when that happens. I will waste my time and write Priceline in a little it.

As always I used the Priceline link at the upper right corner of this page to support this site. Warm regards:)

Update:

After a 34 minute telephone call I could not get the girl on the phone to understand I did not get a 15% discount and was owed back $25 + the $25 rebate. I gave up as I do not have that much time to spend on the phone as I depart this evening. Buyer beware as always, if you have to call customer service you are in for a headache. Employees in my experience cannot do math, this is the third time the person I was talking to could not add.

Thank you for making your purchase through our link to Priceline. The best rate guarantee applies to the rate you find, not the discount that Priceline suggests. Am I understanding you correctly, Natalie?

Well it sounded as though the girl was going to give me the 15% off, a $25 refund, but she could not understand $25 is the price difference after adding numerous time. I could not wait any longer for her to figure it out as I'm leaving today. To be honest I don't know. It is deceiving because it is still blind bidding. I'll write a letter to customer service asking for clarification and will let you know! I don't think it is fair for Priceline to advertise that I am being given a 15% discount when that is not correct. I would not have used the Express Deal if it was not accurate.

I will be back in a few days if not sooner:)

Well I do agree with you and that's why I say repeatedly that Priceline's statements in that regard should always be ignored in favor of your own rate research. It's similar to their median price declarations. We do not know what retail source they are using to make their comparison but apparently it's not the same as we suggest.

See ya soon.

The discounts that Priceline advertises in Express Deals are based on their own retail rates. In this case, the Best Western is listed for $209/night. $209-15%=$177.65, so $172 is more than 15% off their retail rates. Of course, the rates offered through Priceline's retail service aren't always the same as those available through the hotel directly--sometimes they're more, sometimes they're less.
