Some friends needed to extend their stay in Venice.  They added 2 nights to their AirBnB room, but were unable to extend into Thursday, so I talked them into Priceline.

It's VERY busy in Venice, so this deal really stuck out.  As we were using his phone at a restaurant in Venice, I didn't want to do a lot of bidding.  I didn't check out the boundaries of Priceline's San Marco zone, but it obviously extends beyond the actual Venetian sestiere.  This hotel is in Cannareggio, but directly north of Piazza San Marco.  I found three hotels that fit the description of the Express Deal, but only one (the Mercurio) was in Priceline's listing as San Marco (evidently in their conventional listings, Priceline uses Venice's normal neighborhood designations).  This one was one of the two others.

Anyhow, it's one of the top-rated Venice hotels on Tripadvisor and they were pleased.

Thank you for posting your Express Deal purchase. Please confirm the price; the 3* Express Deal that I'm seeing for this zone is 69 euros.

That was the price at booking.  It changed several times while we were looking.   When I first found it, it was 93 E; when I clicked on it, it came back with the message that "rates are constantly changing, your request is no longer available."  When I looked again, it was just 87E!!  And then when he actually went to book, it was 96.  I looked again later that evening, and there was a 3* in San Marco for way more, like 219.
