3* Springmaid Beach Resort 2 nights 10/23 and 24. Began bidding MB West at $48 and increased bid by $3 with free re-bids. $54 per night. Room rate on their website is $139. HOWEVER, after winning the bid I saw on Trip Advisor that the hotel is under construction and one comment that one occupant recently suffered bites from bed bugs. :-( :-( :-( Not looking forward to this stay :-(

You win some and you lose some. We shall see.

Used BFT link as usual - thx Sheryl

Many hotels, good and bad, have the occasional report of bedbugs. Unless there are a lot of complaints in a short period of time, it's generally not something to be concerned about.

Sheryl/Tilepusher: You both were correct - this was a good hotel and a pleasant surprise. In bidding, as indicated, I was looking for a 3* in West MB. In using free rebids in other zones I of course bid in zones that only had 2 1/2* hotels so as to remain in West MB. However, I was awarded this 3* unit in a zone that only posted as having the highest rating of 2 1/2*. I said all that to say this - last year I traveled to LAX to visit a site 32 miles away - it took 2 hours to get there in off hours traffic. I am looking to bid in Arcadia for a 3 1/2* hotel and want to use free rebid zones. But I'm QUITE concerned about the difference in travel time if I'm awarded a 3 1/2* hotel in a zone in NYOP that has lesser rated hotels. Have you seen this type of anomaly before and if so how often?
