My first post, so hopefully I am doing this right...

July 19 for 3 nights downtown 4*.

Hoping to get Millenium or Hyatt downtown around $50-$60 per night based on frequency of success history of others in this forum.  Started at $50 and increased using free rebids to $55, $60, and finally $65 before stopping for now.

Lowest published rate for either of those hotels on their websites is currently $137 for Millenium and $160 for Hyatt and on Hotwire $121 for Millenium and $179 for Hyatt.

I used the priceline link from this site.

I think you are just bidding too early. I would wait about 10 days to bid again and I'd start at $60 based on those retail rates.

Please continue to bid through our link to Priceline and do not bid through a Priceline email and be sure to use the SUMMER coupon code.

Rebid today using the priceline link starting at $60 and bid up to $80 in $5 increments with no luck.  Perhaps there are several big events in town driving the price up?

Tried once again using the website link only this time included 3.5* AND 4* starting at $60 and went up to $90 with free rebids and no luck.  It seems no one has paid this much for a downtown 3.5* or higher, so not sure what to do...

I think you should just be patient. Based on the rates you posted, there is plenty of availability. I would wait until Wednesday to bid again. Don't be nervous.

Tried again this morning up to $75 for 3.5* with no luck.  Will try again next few days.

Millenium 3.5* now showing $135/night and Hyatt 4* showing $199 on their respective websites and hotels.com.

This really makes no sense at all. When you bid again, start with 4* bidding to your limit. If you are not successful, start a completely new bid for a 3.5*.
