  All of the downtown and Loop zones are pretty expensive for these days. So, since I like subways, the ORD options were next up. Express Deals suggested two serious bargains: An O'Hare North 4* offer at $79 that's likely the Westin, and an O'Hare South 3.5* at $64 that's almost certainly this Marriott.

  Any of the 3.5* or higher options in O'Hare South were acceptable & Chicago offers 4 free rebid zones, so NYOP seemed sensible.

  Used the BFT hotel icon to reach PL, bid $54 and got a counter-offer seeking $68. Back to the bidding page to try $56 adding Lakeshore South, $57 adding Franklin Park, $58 adding Oak Park. Closed that window, used the BFT hotel icon to again reach PL, bid $59 with ORD South and Mount Prospect (leaving free several more permutations if necessary) ... success.

   Marriott.com rate =   all-in cost of  $624.57  (lowest cost is AAA: daily rates during this stay averaging out to $132/night, plus $92.57 tax)
          Priceline rate =   all-in cost of  $289.04   (daily rate of $59, plus tax and fees of $53.04)

                  Savings =                         $335.53

   (This also shaves about $27 off the net cost of the $64/night Express Deal, which would have run $315.96 in total)

   As always, cheers to BFT for helping us all to save some serious cash.
